- 1 / 5By Christy RomanskyI ordered a birthday cake last week for my birthday. I was very surprised on the reasonable price compared to other gf bakerys. The saying if it's to good to be true then it probably isn't worth your time, in my case my taste buds it held true. The presentation of the cake itself appeared very amateur, choppy icing work and uneven border. I figured i could get past the appearance if it tasted good. A second disappointment. The cake itself was very dense and heavy. The icing was supposed to be buttercream but was heavy as well. The icing tasted like the canned icing betty Crocker makes. I would have been better off making my own cake. I took one bite and didnt touch the rest. My guests felt the same and thought it was terrible. I threw it away. Next time i will make the trip to gluuteny in squirrel hill like i should have done in the first place. Lesson learned:(November 02, 2016
